Why I am fundraising for The Rotary Foundation
The Rotary Club of Grimsby (RCoG) is contributing to World Polio Day (Oct 24-2020) by joining 65 other Canadian & American District 7090 Clubs in a "Pedal for Polio" bicycling run* from the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, Ontario to Fort George in Niagara-on-the-Lake (22 km).
Please join Rotary International (RI) in continuing our worldwide fight against Polio (99.9% reduction in polio in 30 years) by sponsoring members of the "Rotary Club of Grimsby Pedal for Polio Bicycling Team". All contributions are in $USD & forward to the RI Polio Fund. Canadian tax receipts are issued. An external donor is matching the club amount (to a limit) and Bill & Melinda Gates will double that total.
Our thanks in advance, Jim Noordermeer.
* Due to COVID group-size restrictions by the Niagara Parkway Commission, the 9 RCoG bikers will now hold their event on local Grimsby roads.
In honour of Dr. Ron Mergyl (DVM), a prominent Rotarian who recently passed away.
