We are so close to eliminating the Wild Polio virus (only Afghanistan and Pakistan countries remain) that we mustn't stop now in our efforts to rid this world of such a dangerous disease. As the Gates Foundation stated, we must keep our foot on the pedal. Even now, as vaccine-derived polio cases arise in New York, the disease monitoring network that Rotary has established world-wide serves to keep our tiger teams on alert to snuff out outbreaks with aggressive vaccination efforts.
