Update #1
The Rotary Youth Exchange students raised $4757 at Tri-Con for PolioPlus and the Pound the Pavement for Polio walk on Saturday, April 20th.
All Rotarians in D6270 are challenged to help us raise at least that much by the end of the day on April 30th.
Please join your fellow Rotarians in donating, get friends and family to do the same. There are links to information on PolioPlus for those who would like additional information on WHY we are working so hard to eliminate this disease.
Why I am fundraising for The Rotary Foundation
The Rotary Districts of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan are holding their Tri-District Conference (Tri-Con 2024) in Green Bay from April 18th - 20th. During this event we will be raising money to fight polio by holding a PolioPlus Silent Auction, and by doing our Pound the Pavement for Polio (PP4P) walk on the morning of April 20th.
District 6270 has set up this fundraising page to encourage the individuals and clubs of our district to raise money for PP4P. We are challenging the other two districts to try and out-raise us, with the team raising the most money by the end of April to be declared the winner. Of a very unique prize that will be revealed at Tri-Con 2024.
Over the past nearly 40 years, Rotary and its global partners, have raised over $2 billion dollars, established a global health system to locate, vaccinate and monitor children against polio, and other preventable diseases.
We have reduced cases by over 99.997% from 1985 levels, with only 12 cases in 2023.
