Polio is still around! Rotary has been working to eradicate it from the world for the last 30 years. It is still in 2 countries - Afghanistan and Pakistan. There have been only a handful of wild polio cases this year. To declare a country polio free, there can be no cases for 3 years.
Work is continuing to immunize everyone in those countries. We are so close to eradicating this dreaded disease, but it is costly. Please consider donating to our polio fundraiser. For every dollor donated, about 2 children get vaccinated. The Gates Foundation will match your donation 2 to 1. So if you donate $10, Gates Foundation will donate $20, making $30.
