One Day, One Focus, Ending Polio.
World Polio Day (Oct. 24th) is a time for Rotary members, public health advocates, and all who want a world free from polio to come together, recognize our progress in the fight to end polio, and talk about the actions we need to take in order to end polio for good. Support me in riding 25 miles (Rotary District 5790 Pedaling for Polio) with your donation, so that "Together, we End Polio."

The Facts
1) Polio mainly affects children under age 5.
2) There is no cure, but polio is preventable with a vaccine.
3) Only two countries remain endemic.
4) We’ve reduced cases by 99.9% since 1988.
5) Until we end polio forever, every child is at risk.

Why I am fundraising for The Rotary Foundation
Growing up in rural southwest Indiana I know of a relative who lived with polio. He successfully farmed. He and has wife had two children. This is such a vivid memory as he would drive his tractor with his knarled fingers on both hands holding & turning the steering wheel. Even more heroic, his legs were bent outward at his knees and he diligently walked throughout the farm property to dutifully accomplish his daily chores to successfully run the family farm. This is why I am motivated, so we can Together, End Polio Now!
