Update #2

We had an additional case of Polio five weeks ago, so we stand at 9 for the year. But we’re doing great! Thanks for all the donations!

Why I am fundraising for The Rotary Foundation
This year, I will hit the big 7-0! For my birthday, I don't need presents, cards or bottles of wine. Please use the money you would have spent on these things to support Rotary's fight against Polio!
Why Polio?
Since 1985, Rotary's #1 international goal has been the worldwide eradication of Polio. When we started, there were 350,000 new cases of polio every year in 125 countries. So far in 2023, there have been only 7 cases of wild polio in the world, all in the border region of Pakistan and Afghanistan - a 99.99% reduction! We really are "this close" to beating polio once and for all.
In 2015, I was on a Rotary team that administered oral polio vaccine to hundreds of children in India as part of a National Immunization Day. That's me in the photo (before the gray hair!)
My goal is to raise $7500. And guess what - my good friends Bill and Melinda Gates will match everything we raise 2:1!
Please help me have a happy birthday, and let's END POLIO NOW!
