Why we are fundraising for The Rotary Foundation
In 1979, Rotary started a pilot project in the Philippines to immunize 6 million children from the Polio Virus. It took 5 years and proved it could be done. In 1985, Rotary took on the eradication of Polio in the world as it's # 1 priority and made a promise to the children of the world that they would never have to worry about getting Polio. 36 years later, we have gone from a 1,000 cases of Polio a day to 2 cases in the last 6 months!!! We Rotarians WILL finish the job we started... We MUST Destroy Polio for... "EVERY LAST CHILD".
