Why we are fundraising for The Rotary Foundation
District 6270 is participating in the World's Largest Polio Walk, conceived and operated by the clubs of Zones 25b and 29. The goal is to raise awareness of how close we are to ending polio globally, forever. We encourage clubs and individuals to create fundraising pages, get the word out to each of our communities that we are nearing the end of our global efforts to eradicate polio, and encourage everyone to support our fundraising efforts.
On October 24th, Rotary Clubs in America's Heartland, from the Canadian Border to the Mexican Boarder, will host walks, beginning at 10:00 am CDT. Our campaign will highlight not only what we have been able to accomplish over the last 40 years, but how close we are to the finish line. We are hoping for 10's of thousands of walkers, donors, and newly educated community members and Rotarians to help us set the record for the World's Largest Polio Walk.
