Update #3

Update from Burgos Spain, where I have about 1/3 of the Camino behind me. So only about 300-some more miles to go. I met this new Peregrino (Camino pilgrim) friend on a park bench in front of the beautiful Burgos cathedral and let him wear my sombrero with the “End Polio Now” pin. He didn’t have a lot to say, but I’m pretty sure he supports our cause.

Hola from Pamplona where I’m taking a rest day after my first 4 days on the Camino. I’m really amazed and inspired by everyone’s generosity on the fundraiser. Can’t believe we’ve already reached our $10k goal. Let’s keep going - on to $15k!

Why I am fundraising for The Rotary Foundation
I will be walking the Camino de Santiago (French Way) in September - October 2025 and raising funds and awareness for Rotary International's polio eradication program along "the Way." The Camino is a medieval pilgrimage trail (actually a network of trails, depending where you start from). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camino_de_Santiago. The Camino I will be walking starts in St Jean Pied de Port, France and goes over the Pyrenees and about 500 miles / 800 km west to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. That's a lot of walking for an old man living out of a backpack, so I need your support to help motivate me to keep going. I hope to finish around World Polio Day on 10/24/25. I'm excited and feel blessed to be able to make this long walk to help fight a disease that stops some people from walking altogether.
Will you help make this a success and be a part of my Camino Against Polio?
Consider a $500 donation ($1/mile), $250, $100, or whatever feels right to you.
Buen Camino, and thank you!
