Update #5

Celebrating completing the Camino and a milestone birthday here in Santiago de Compostela! Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to our Rotary polio eradication fundraiser and sent me encouragement along the Way. It was a really challenging undertaking and there were times of doubt where your support helped me keep putting one foot in front of the other to make it through. Thank you for that.
Let’s keep going on the fundraiser. I’m so happy we hit the goal of $10,000 - let’s see if we can make it to $15,000! World Polio Day is this Friday, October 24. I’ll match any contributions to the fundraiser between now and then until we hit $15,000.

Why I am fundraising for The Rotary Foundation
I will be walking the Camino de Santiago (French Way) in September - October 2025 and raising funds and awareness for Rotary International's polio eradication program along "the Way." The Camino is a medieval pilgrimage trail (actually a network of trails, depending where you start from). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camino_de_Santiago. The Camino I will be walking starts in St Jean Pied de Port, France and goes over the Pyrenees and about 500 miles / 800 km west to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. That's a lot of walking for an old man living out of a backpack, so I need your support to help motivate me to keep going. I hope to finish around World Polio Day on 10/24/25. I'm excited and feel blessed to be able to make this long walk to help fight a disease that stops some people from walking altogether.
Will you help make this a success and be a part of my Camino Against Polio?
Consider a $500 donation ($1/mile), $250, $100, or whatever feels right to you.
Buen Camino, and thank you!
